Andhra Pradesh govt. postpones Intermediate exams by one week
Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government, to make up for time lost in Telangana due to agitations has decided to postpone its Intermediate examinations by a week from March 3, 2010 earlier to March 10, 2010 now.

The decision comes as a relief for students who were under the dilemma for the exams.

Secondary Education Minister D. Manikya Varaprasada Rao, after discussions with Chief Minister K. Rosaiah, announced the new schedule.

The Inter I and II examinations, which were originally scheduled from March 3 to March 22, 2010, will now begin on March 10 and will end on March 30, 2010.

Since there will be no clash in availability of examination halls for the SCC exam, the date sheet for this exam has not been changed and will begin from March 22, 2010.

Similarly, the exam in Environment (Inter I) will be held on January 30 and the practical for II year from February 3, both as originally planned.

As the original schedule was prepared to suit several all-India entrance tests, the Minister explained that he was personally opposed to the postponement.

Hoping that the revised schedule would do justice to students of all regions, he had opted for a change in dates to provide ample time to students in Telangana, who lost 15 days due to agitations/holidays.

During the discussions, the Chief Minister is stated to have asked the Minister to take the decision himself after considering various factors and do justice to all students.
