Kakinada: K.C. Reddy, Chairman of
Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education, today inaugurated the V.S. Lakshmi Engineering College for women.
Allam Appa Rao, Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-Kakinada supervised the inauguration function.
The college, funded by the Lakshmi Education Society, is located between Kakinada and Yanam.
It has been approved by the
All India Council for Technical Education (
AICTE) and is affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU).
The intake of students will be 90 each for ECE, CSE and IT courses and 30 for EEE.
Chief Executive Officer of the college, V. Sitarama Raju said, "It is the first women's
engineering college in the district whose focus will be on institution-industrial interaction."
