Itanagar: Outstanding footballers at district level in Arunachal Pradesh will be rewarded with a scholarship from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
This was announced by Minister of State for Home Affairs, Ajay Makan, during an interaction with children from the state who called on him here today.
These 20 students and two teachers from the remote border area of Tirap, Lohit, West Kameng, Lower Dibang and Changlang districts of Arunachal Pradesh were a part of an excursion organized by the ITBP under its Civic Action and Border Area Development Programme.
ITBP Director General Ranjit Kumar Bhatia and other senior officers of the force were also present on this occasion.
On the occasion, Makan said, "I am sure that these students will gain valuable experience by seeing the historical monuments, discovering the values of unity in diversity and communal harmony."
He also inspired them to work for national unity and communal harmony and praised ITBP for promoting the same by organizing such programmes.
