Mumbai: Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) has announced to conduct an entrance test for admissions to Ph.D. Programmes in Science Disciplines on February 26, 2012.
Citizens of India holding B.Sc. as well as M.Sc. Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Biology or related science subject with a minimum of 60% marks are eligible to appear for the test.
Those who are waiting for their final results of qualifying degree can also apply provided they are able to submit their marksheets by November 30, 2012.
Candidates applying through GATE should have a valid GATE score in their respective subjects.
A limited number of selected applicants will be provided Junior Research Fellowships (JRFs) for four years. An amount of Rs. 16,000/- per month will be given for first and second year while Rs. 18,000/- per month will be given for subsequent years besides house rent allowance and medical benefits as per rules.
The selected candidates can also pursue the Ph.D. program with fellowships from other sources like UGC-CSRl, DBT, ICAR, ICMR and other National Agencies.
For those who opt to appear for written test, the last date for submission of forms is January 16, 2012 while those who opt to be selected on the basis of GATE score can apply till March 31, 2012.
