Commencement of Computer Education in Chandigarh

Chandigarh: In order to give boost to computer education in Senior Secondary Schools in Chandigarh, the department of Chandigarh Administration has introduced Computer Science as an elective subject. Under the plan, stream of class XI from the coming academic year 2008-09 in the 12 Government schools in sectors-10, 16, 18, 19, 21, 32, 33, 35, 37, 40, 46 and Modern Complex, Manimajra (Chandigarh) would impart training in computer skills..

Mr. S.K. Setia, DPI (UT) said that the labs already exist in these schools and the teachings for the post graduation subjects will be available by DOEAC faculty in short span of time.

He further said that, heads of the schools are directed to apply online to the Director Academics at www.cbse.nic.in, CBSE with the payment of requisite fees for the subject as stated under CBSE.
