Chandigarh: The Government of Chandigarh will soon setup a state-of-the-art Museum of Knowledge (MoK), as was originally planned by French architect Le Corbusier, in the Capitol Complex.
The museum, based on the four postulates laid down by Le Corbusier namely Ethics, Sociology, Economics and Technology, will have discussion & seminar rooms, research facilities, library-cum-research centre and an exhibition / display room with all allied facilities.
"A Space for the people", as its designer envisages, the museum will be setup with an objective to collect and disseminate information to the masses.
"The Museum of Knowledge will have a Digital Library for storing books, CDs and tapes. Internet facility will also be available to all visitors", a spokesperson said.
Research work supplemented with seminars, debates and discussions on a host of subjects with special focus on much-debated topics like Water Conservation and Environment Protection will be carried out in the museum throughout the year.
The MoK would be run by a society under the aegis of the Chandigarh Administration which would provide necessary funds for its maintenance.
