Chhattisgarh to provide uniforms to schoolgirls

Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government will spend over Rs.80 million in the current fiscal year to provide free uniforms to schoolgirls from Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).

The state government said in a statement here on Friday that Rs.80.15 million would be spent to provide uniforms to the girls enrolled at primary schools run by the SC and ST department.

The scheme, aimed to motivate parents in poverty-hit regions to send their daughters to school, will help about 400,000 girls. IANS
