New Delhi: All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination was weld on Sunday at 1,299 centers across the country. The exam mostly takes place for the admission to 20 National Institutes of Technology and in some of the deemed universities nationwide.
The Entrance process went off well. According to Mr. Pitam Singh, Head of Department (Special Exams) at the Central Board of Secondary Education, "There were no complaints from any centre. As many as 858,000 students were registered for today's examination - 858,000 for B. E. / B. Tech. and 48,000 for B. Architecture / B. Planning. There were many students who registered themselves for both the papers".
Further, as compared to last year, this year saw an addition of around 220,000 candidates for appearing in the AIEEE.
Talking on the increment, Mr. Singh said, "This is primarily because a lot of students are opting for engineering than medicine. B. Tech. along with two years of MBA fetches them better pay packets".
This year the AIEEE exam was also conducted at two foreign destinations-Riyadh and Dubai.
