New Delhi: An inter-Amity school-level science competition is being organised by the Amity International School at the Amity campus in Noida Sector 44.
The competition named 'Vasudha 2008-09 Level-II', aims at developing an understanding about Science among the youngsters. It also provides a platform to students for observing, collecting data, experimenting, analyzing and presenting their findings in order to improve the quality of human life and encourage ecological awareness.
This year's theme for the science competition is, "Our earth: Explore, Share and Care".
More than 195 projects will be presented by over 1000 students studying in eight branches of Amity Schools to a 25-member jury.
The jury comprises of members from Vigyan Prasar,
National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT), Department of Science and Technology (Government of India), National Centre of Global Warming and Ecological Studies, Amity Institute of Telecom Technology and Management, Amity Institute of Nanotechnology and Amity Institute of Organic
Agriculture.
A 15-day exhibition was also organized in July and August 2008 in all Amity International Schools in the first phase of Vasudha 2008-09.
A valedictory function will be organized on September 9, 2008. Former President of India, Dr. A.P.J Abdul Kalam will be present during the function.
