DU planning to shift into grading system
New Delhi: The University of Delhi (DU) has decided to form an expert committee to introduce grading system for both undergraduate as well as post-graduate courses with effect from the year 2012-13.

The decision has been taken to make semester system more effective. DU's Vice-Chancellor Dinesh Singh informed that after receiving suggestions from some college principals, they are considering to introduce grading system.

He further added that an expert committee will be formed to formulate modalities of the grading system; however it will be different from board exams grading system.

A former member of the committee said that this issue was also discussed two years ago, when semester system was being introduced for the undergraduate courses.

As the university is also planning to introduce four-year courses for undergraduate courses from 2012-13 session, so it is an excellent idea to have grading system at par with international standards.
