New Delhi:
Delhi University (DU) has setup an Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell and a Patent Fund under the chairmanship of Mr. Madan Mohan, Dean of Research at the varsity.
The idea behind setting up the IPR Cell is to facilitate researchers, inventors and creators to manage their intellectual property rights through this legal machinery.
Faculties from different departments of the university will be members of the IPR Cell.
In future, the IPR Cell and Patent Fund might also take practicing lawyers and law firms dealing with IPR issues.
The Patent fund has been created with an initial amount of Rs.20 lakhs to help the creators of intellectual property in filing applications and also for providing financial assistance to the academe for paying publication charges, if required for publication of research papers.
