IP University organizes Business Skill Development Programme

New Delhi: The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of University School of Management Studies, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is organizing a Business Skill Development Programme, in association with Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Institute, Government of India.

The one-month programme was inaugurated today by Mr. Subhash Goel, Chairman, Stic Travels Pvt. Ltd, Delhi; Mr. Suresh Yadavendra, Director, MSME Development Institute; Mr. Balraj Nandwani, CEO, Skills Academy Delhi, and Prof. Sanjiv Mittal, USMS, GGSIPU, among others, at the University campus in Kashmere Gate.

The programme endeavours to motivate young students to take up entrepreneurship and provide guidance on areas like how to identify a business opportunity, steps involved in setting up a business enterprise and how to manage it thereafter, covering issues like marketing, finance, Human Resource management etc.

About 30 students of GGSIPU are participating in this programme.

Addressing the budding entrepreneurs, Mr. Goel said, "There is a lot of competition in the market as well as opportunity, but if you want to be a job creator and not just a job seeker than don't be afraid of competition and look out for opportunity."

He also encouraged students to have confidence and positive approach and be open to adapt themselves to changing environment.

Senior representatives from organizations like Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD), MSME-Development Institute, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and even banks like State Bank of India, will be sharing their knowledge and skills with the participating students during the programme.

Moreover, the certificates these students will get from MSME at the end of the business skill development programme will make them eligible for concession in the bank loans as well as assistance from several institutions and organizations in setting up their own enterprise.
