New Delhi: The Vice President of India, M. Hamid Ansari presented the 14th Ratan Sharma Smriti Bal Sahitya Puraskar to Geetika Goel for her book entitled "Chunmun Ki Kahaniyan" at a function organized by Mr. Ratan Lal Sharma Smriti Nyas here today.

The Vice President presented Geetika a cheque of Rs.15,000, a memento and a citation for her book.

Speaking on the occasion, Ansari said, "Children are the future of our nation and we have to ensure them a better future. The required attention has not been paid to school education and we have not been able to achieve 100 percent literacy in our country so far. We can educate our children by telling moral stories."

The Vice President congratulated the author and the Nyas for bringing out such a purposeful children book and asked them to ensure that the book reaches the library of every primary school in the country so that all children benefit from it.

Noted littérateurs Mr. Mahip Singh and Mr. Ashok Chakradhar also graced the occasion along with several other dignitaries.
