New Delhi: Come 2012, the online version of the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) will have an additional feature for students under which they can attempt the questions in multiple languages i.e English as well as Hindi, according to their convenience.
According to this new feature, for example, if a student is not able to understand a question in English, he / she can switch on to the Hindi format of the question and attempt it and thereafter continue with English for the next question. The language can be switched as many times as the examinee wants.
The evaluation process will not be affected by this switching of language in any manner. Apart from this, a copy of the question paper will automatically be e-mailed to students after the online exam.
Currently under the offline mode, a similar feature is provided to only those who opt for the paper in Hindi. For them the question paper is available in both the languages. While attempting the offline test, English medium students are deprived of this facility.

This will provide an extra advantage to those who choose the online version as these students will have extended time period for preparation. Moreover, the three-hour long online exam will be held twice daily starting at 9 am for the morning session and 2 pm for the afternoon session.
Despite the benefits of online exams, some coaching institutes still suggest students for opting for offline tests. According to them, the advantages of online version are not very attractive.
Mr. Abhishek Bansal, the owner of a private coaching institute, says that, "The frequency of exam and language are minor issues. It's the nature of question which matters for students more. Every student wishes to be presented with questions her /she has prepared for. I have not recommended any version to my students, let them decide for themselves. For the next year, I would give preference to the offline exam".
