Margao: The Government of Goa would soon establish two separate educational estates for institutions across the state.
The two educational estates, one each in the two separate districts, will be a hub of different types of educational institutions and will be equipped with facilities like hotels, shopping complexes etc.
The ambitions project, aimed at strengthening the quality of education in the state, will take at least two more years to complete.
Mr. M. K. Shaikh, Chairman of the Goa Education Development Corporation told reporters that the State Government has zeroed on 40 lakhs square meters of land in each of the two districts and is still in the process of short listing the same size space for another estate.
He further added that the emergence of these two estates will be an added bonus for students from Goa, who currently have to go to far off places to pursue higher education.
He also pointed towards the fact that, several renowned private foreign institutions have shown a keen interest in setting up their institutions in these two upcoming estates.
The Chairman has not disclosed the locations of the upcoming estates. However, state Chief Minister, Mr. Digamber Kamat, at one of the functions held at Mapusa, hinted that the two estates may come up in Mapsua (North Goa) and Margo (South Goa).
Goa has always been a fascinating place for people all over the world, popularly known for its beautiful beaches and tempting sea food. The state government feels that the establishment of these educational estates will further accelerate the economy and the standing of Goa as an ideal destination for investment.
