Panjim: The Goa Government has informed that the next entrance examination for admission to the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun (UA) for its July 2009 term will be conducted at the various centers on December 1-2, 2008.

A press note issued says that only boys are eligible to apply for admission to the RIMC, Dehradun.

Candidates appearing for the examination should not be less than 11½ years in age but should not have attained the age of 13 years as on July 1, 2009 i.e. they should have been born not earlier than July 1, 1996 and not later than January 1, 1998.

Candidates should either be studying in class VII or passed class VII from any recognized school at the time of admission to the RIMC i.e. 1st July, 2009.

The examination in English and Mathematics shall be conducted on December 1, 2008 and General Knowledge papers on December 2, 2008.

The interview date shall be announced on Friday, April 3, 2009.

Mathematics and General Knowledge papers may be answered either in Hindi or English. The examination will be held simultaneously for all the candidates, whether they answer the question papers in Hindi or English.

Minimum pass marks in each paper including interview will be 50 percent and if the candidate fails to secure 50 percent marks in any paper, he will be declared ineligible for admission.

The selection of candidates will be purely on merit.

Copies of the application forms, old questions papers and prospectus can be obtained from the Commandant, RIMC, Dehradun on payment of Rs.250 through demand draft drawn in favour of Commandant, RIMC.

Application forms duly completed in duplicate on prescribed forms accompanied by a bank draft, payable at State Bank of India, Tel Bhavan (Code No. 01576), Dehradun only, will be accepted for Rs.50 (Rs.5 incase of SC/ST candidates) in favour of Commandant RIMC, Dehradun.

It must be sent to the Assistant Director of Education, Panaji-Goa on or before September 30, 2008.
