Chandigarh: The Government of Haryana has decided to confer Class I status to all college teachers who receive Rs.10,000 and above as salary.

Also, outstanding college teachers will be given the State Teacher's Award from the next year, the Government announced.

The awardees will be given increments till their retirement, earlier who were given two increments for five years. The same facility will also be given to the National Teacher awardees.

All these announcements were made by Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at State Teacher's Award distribution ceremony organized here on September 5, 2008.
