Ahmedabad: With the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with several foreign Business Schools for student exchange programmes, the
Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is rapidly expanding itself as an international B-school.
IIM-A has signed 60 MoUs for student exchange programmes this year. The number of students opting for international exchange programmes has also increased.
As compared to the previous year, more students from foreign B-schools have visited IIM-A this year under various exchange programmes.
According to institute officials, around 100 students will visit 19 different international business schools under exchange programmes in September this year. Last year, only 70 students visited different B- schools under exchange programmes.
"Students opt for international B-schools based on their interest in the particular courses being offered by the institute. The number of students showing interest in the international exchange programmes has gone up over the years and this year, as many as 100 students have applied for the same", said an official at IIM
Ahmedabad.
The dual-degree programme which is conducted by IIM
Ahmedabad in collaboration with the Essec Business School (
France) and University of Bocconi (Italy) is also witnessing an increase in the number of takers.
Under the dual-degree programme, two students each from the Essec Business School and University of Bocconi participate in the dual-degree programme.
