Lucknow: IIM-L has received huge response for its newly launched International programme in Management for executives. More than 46 students have joined this full-time (one year) residential programme at its recent open campus in Noida.
The programme, titled (IPMX) is believed to be unwrapped in collaboration with the Faculty of Management, McGill University, Canada. Giving attention to this, Mr. Poonam Sahgal, dean, IIM-L, said, "Students will spend one term with McGill University where they would pursue international finance and international strategies. Moreover, once there, students would also participate in workshops on sustainable development".
Adding to it, faculties from the Kellogg School of Management and National University of Singapore will also give inputs to students. After the classes students will also be able to interact with eminent experts from wide-ranging fields such as, sports etc.
Speaking on the diverse background of the current students taking admission into the course, Chairman (MDP and Interaction Committee), IIM-L, Noida, said, "The average work experience of the participants is nine years and they come from diverse functional areas - right from public section unit to corporate sectors and government services. A majority of the students are technical graduates. Around 45% are form the IT and technical domain, while the rest represent the telecom, power, banking, finance and defence sector".
Additionally, IIM-L has also announced its plan to build up a "Centre for Business for Climate Change" which will be first of its kind to be dedicated to Environmental Change and would be the first institute to be launched by a B-school. The centre will carry out research on emission trading, document best business practices being followed at the global level and provide consultancy services to the corporate sector and so on.
