Ahmedabad: The Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) is conducting a two-day international conference on 'Security and Identity Management' (SIM) at its campus, starting from today.

The conference is being organized to identify global challenges on the issue and address gaps which exist in the digital economy.

47 Indian partners and 25 from the UK in the research project are part of the conference.

The conference is the part of an Indo-UK research project in the area of information security and identity management, which will bring together several international experts from both academia and industry to ponder on the issue.

"Several security and identity challenges across the globe will be discussed during the conference by various international participants from diverse fields. Efforts will also be made to abridge the 'gap' in the digital economy market and develop appropriate security and identity framework and solutions," Rajanish Dass said.

"There is a technological as well as managerial challenge in the banking sector. It is typically, a managerial challenge where the technology needs to be managed properly, Chitagunta Ramnath, CGM (IT), State Bank of India said, who is one of the core presenter in the conference.

Ramnath has a great role in introducing core banking in SBI and spreading the ATM network of the bank across the country.

He said that banks need to work towards better security and identity management, introduce authenticity and confidentiality to gain trust of the customers.

The conference is expected to bring together diverse community from the academia, research, industry and government to deliberate on the identity management issues.
