New Delhi: With Metro Rail becoming an integral part of transport infrastructure in Delhi and also envisaging to coming up in other states, The Delhi Metro is looking forward for engineers specially qualified in this technology.
It wrote to the Human Resources Development (HRD) Ministry to introduce such courses in The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
E Sreedharan, managing director of Delhi Metro urged that the Post Graduate Courses in different disciplines concerning to Metro Technology should be launched in IITs.
He further informed that to meet the demand in near future, at least 50 engineers every year should be passed out.
Mr. Sreedharan said that we have advised to the HRD Ministry that IITs should start courses in Metro Technology. It is not simply Civil Engineering, but we require professionals in Electrical, Signaling and Air-Conditioning Engineering.
