Mumbai: An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) made a generous gesture by giving a cheque of Rs. 2.5 Crore to the Institute, on the occasion of Christmas.

The money will be utilized to set up a counseling programme for the students, and also to support the financially weaker IITians.

It was alumni day on Sunday and thousands of IITians came to the campus. The class of 1986 celebrated its silver jubilee reunion and met with their old friends and faculty.

IIT-B has planned to organize the Counseling Services Programme (CSP) with the money. The CSP will help in addressing the academic, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs of the students.
