New Delhi: It's that time of the year again, when the buzz begins, the expectations rise, the excitement ascends… and the Mother of all College Fests arrives…

This is what describes Rendezvous '08 - the annual cultural festival of the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IIT-D).

This year, Rendezvous will be organized on 18th, 19th and 21st September.

Rendezvous, as the name suggests, marks the convergence of art, talent and enthusiasm, which symbolizes Gen-next. It is the biggest youth platform in North India, which sees a huge youth turnout every year.

Rendezvous claims participation of the nation's top colleges and showcases talent of the highest quality. The fest is endorsed by big corporate houses including Microsoft, Vodafone, State Bank of India, ONGC etc.

In the past, celebrities like John Abraham, Kailash Kher, Shobha Mudgal and KK have been a part of the annual festival.

Rendezvous boasts of highly competitive-cum-entertaining events like BLITZKRIEG (Rock Show), DHOOM (Pro Nite), KALEIDOSCOPE (Lifestyles & Choreography) and SPECTRUM (Group Dance), all attracting massive numbers in the institute's Open Air Theatre (OAT).

Besides these, 41 inter-college competitive events encompassing varied cultural activities like drama, debating, music, quizzing, indoor sports, photography, fine arts, movie-making etc. will be organized this year.

Events like adventure sports, go-karting, magic show, dance parties, computer gaming, laughter show, music events etc. will also be organized for the thousands of moving audience.

A list of the major competitive events at Rendezvous '08 this year is given below:

DHOOM - The Pro Nite
One of the most popular events of Rendezvous, Dhoom showcases the biggest names in the music industry. An excellent sound system revs up the acoustics and giant video screens heighten the atmosphere in the OAT to a frenzy.

BLITZKRIEG - The Rock Show
Blitzkrieg is a power-packed concert followed by a lightning performance, and it keeps on getting bigger year after year. The electric atmosphere with the deafening sound and the blinding lights is any rock fan's dream come true.

KALEIDOSCOPE - Choreography & Lifestyle
The exquisite confluence of glamour, art and style - Kaleidoscope is a perfect blend of colors and themes, lifestyles and choreography, fashion and art, presented with son et lumiere.

LOAT POAT - The Laughter Riot
Loat Poat will tickle your funny bones-no end. A highly engaging and amusing event with some of the best talents in Hindi poetry and mimicry belting out witty orations, it is not hard to spot people rolling in the aisles with laughter.

SPECTRUM - Group Dance Competition
Colleges from all over the country showcase their talent and innovation and present unique and exciting forms of dancing. The ambience of the night is brightened by the vibrant surroundings and enchanting costumes. In the background of musical medleys and with a combination of both western and eastern dance in perfect harmony, this event has elegance and exuberance galore.

ILLUSIONAIRE - The Magic Show
