Vadodara (Gujarat): The Vadodara Municipal Corporation's (VMC) attempts to provide effective education, has recently found a new torch bearer in the form of Aamir Khan's recent directorial venture: 'Taare Zameen Par'.

The School Board feels that there are many inherent lessons in the film which need to be explored and hence it plans to screen Aamir Khan's latest flick which has received accolades for its unique presentation of a child's psychology.
It is expected that around 1,200 teachers from 115 schools will watch the movie to benefit and explore from various dimensions associated with the movie.

The special two-day screening, scheduled on Friday and Saturday in a city multiplex, would also be followed by seminars and interactive sessions by experts.

"As we are going to observe 2008 as the 'Quality Education Year' in all our 115 schools, this is an attempt towards the same. The screening is aimed at helping teachers to redefine their role and responsibilities and to understand it from a different perspective", Board chairman Mehul Zaveri said.

"Taare Zameen Par was a very touching and wonderful movie. I decided to bring all my teachers to watch the movie. They should try and implement the movie's message for the greater benefit of children. It is very seldom we see such beautiful stories coming to our cinemas", he added.

"We have already started efficiency-improvement and morale boost-up seminars-cum-workshops by consulting psychologist Dr. Surani and management guru Dr. Dalal, who are experts at training employees from big corporate houses. These seminars will be held every fourth month", he further added.

In order to encourage more viewers, the ticket price has been slashed for the screening on a special request by the board.
