British varsity inaugurates its first office in India

New Delhi: Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) of the United Kingdom inaugurated its first office in India here on Thursday.

At the inaugural function, a scholarship was awarded to a Mumbai-based journalist for pursuing his M.A in International Broadcast Journalism.

The varsity's office here would look after students from India going to the institute in the UK.

Philip Jones, Vice-Chancellor of SHU, said, "We are proud of our robust collaborations in India and together we will continue to work towards developing mutually beneficial partnerships. We are also keen to develop faculty and student exchange programmes".

The Sheffield Hallam University (SHU) has collaborations with Indian institutions including Manipal University and Christ College, Bangalore.

The university runs over 200 specialist flexible courses including part-time study, distance learning and work-based learning.
