Govt panel to select VC of SKUAST

Jammu: The Government of Jammu & Kashmir has setup a panel to select the new Vice Chancellor of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (SKAUST).

"A five-member panel headed by Mangla Rai, Director of Indian council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) has been setup by the state Governor to select the new vice chancellor of SKUAST," official sources said.

The vice-chancellor's post went vacant after Naginder Sharma's term ended.

Till the appointment of a full-time VC, the charge was given to S.L. Bhat, Financial Commissioner of Planning Department.
