Bangalore: Wipro Technologies conducted the grand finals of its 2nd Annual CodeZap Guru coding contest here today.
Over 8000 students from premier Engineering colleges around India participated in the first round of the contest through the month of June, with the 14 regional winners being brought to Bangalore for the final round of the event.
The event was aimed towards fostering a programming culture amongst the student community.
The National CodeZap Guru title went to Nicolo Davis of MSRIT College Bangalore, with Vijay S. of Anna University, Chennai coming in second place.
The National winner received a Wipro laptop, with the runner-up taking home an LCD TV.
In addition, all 14 finalists took home prizes in the form of iPods.
"It is heartening to see such a positive response from the student community for the event. It was a good opportunity to observe the talents of the students and interact with them personally. We look forward to engaging students in many more such initiatives which give them an opportunity to develop their abilities and showcase their talents to a wider audience", Pradeep Bahirwani, Vice President, Talent Acquisition, Wipro Technologies told NNE.
