Bhopal: Even one teacher per student could not guarantee success in exams in a Madhya Pradesh college.

The Burhanpur College is a government-run institution affiliated to the Devi Ahilya University, Indore, and was established last year.

All the five students of the college who had been admitted to the only course that the college offers failed even as there were five teachers for them.

The annual expense of the college is Rs 3.5 lakhs, said officials. It is running in a private building and neither has permanent staff nor a principal.

"We are finding out the reasons why the students failed and we will also try that from the next session, more students take admission," said S.C. Dhyani, who is officiating as the principal.

Devi Ahilya University Registrar P.S. Mulgaonkar told the sources, "We could not do much as we can only conduct examinations. It is for the college and the government to see how things can improve there." IANS
