CBSE to set up special question papers for visually impaired
Mumbai: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to set up special question papers in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics for visually impaired students. It is a step towards encouraging them to opt for Science stream at Senior Secondary level.

The new scheme will come into force for class XI students from March 2012 board examinations, while for class XII students it will be implemented with effect from the year 2013.

The board has issued a circular on December 23, 2012, instructing all schools to inform about the scheme to everyone concerned. It is also mentioned in the circular that under the new scheme, visually impaired students are not required to appear for practical exams.
