Mumbai: A delegation of top academicians from Mumbai under the leadership of Indu Shahani, the Sheriff of Mumbai, has been selected for an educational tour to Atlanta, New York and Washington DC from October 24 to November 8.
The delegation comprises of principals from various engineering and management colleges in Mumbai.
Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor, Vijay Khole, Pro-VC, A.D. Sawant and Principal Secretary of Higher and Technical Education, J.S. Saharia are also part of the delegation.
The delegation will invite faculty members to spend time in Indian colleges, review the education patters of American varsities and share their knowledge base. It will also promote internationalisation of education through faculty-and-student exchanges.
"The delegation will be inaugurating an Indian Film Festival in Emory College in Atlanta. It will also meet journalists at the CNN headquarters in Atlanta. The delegation will visit different universities like those specialized in liberal arts, technology, business and universities running science programmes", Indu Shahani said.
Some of the institutions which the delegation will visit include Kennesaw State University and Clayton State University, Columbia University, New York University and the George Washington University.
Lat year, a similar delegation, headed by Shahani visited the UK.
