Pune: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will conduct its supplementary Secondary School Certificate (SSC - Std. X) and Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC - Std. XII) examinations from September 18 across the state.
The exam will be conducted through the divisional boards located at Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Kolahapur, Amravati, Nashik and Latur.
This will be last opportunity for students to appear for the examination as per old curriculum of SSC and HSC.
The exam is being conducted at this time keeping in mind the Commonwealth Youth Games and the Diwali vacations.
According to a statement released by Board Secretary Vinay Dakshindas, around 81,643 students are likely to appear for the SSC examination as per the new curriculum and class improvement scheme.
Another 80,176 students are likely to appear for the exam according to the old curricula.
Approximately, 54,032 students and 64,898 students are likely to appear for the HSC exam as per old and new curricula respectively.
As per the old curriculum, a multiple question system will be followed for the English subject for HSC students. The question paper is divided in two parts - a written exam for 80 marks and an oral exam for 20 marks in the new curriculum.
All students will have to appear for Environment Education paper which will be conducted during the practical exam at the junior college level.
The exam for Information Technology will be conducted online for which 30 students will appear following the old curricula and 468 students will appear as per the new curriculum.
A 100 marks paper will be prepared for Science and Social Science. The marks will however be converted into out of 150 because the SSC exam as per old curriculum used to be out of 750 marks.
An internal assessment of 30 marks will be conducted for Mathematics subject and the written examination will be of 120 marks.
