| National anthem to be compulsary across Maharashtra schools April 03, 2008 Mumbai: Maharashtra government is about to give nod to implement a code of conduct for schools, which will guarantee singing of the national anthem and celebration of national days and flag hoisting in all CBSE and ICSE-affiliated schools across the state. The state government is also determined to enforce the code very strictly throughout the state. Talking on the code, Minister of School Education Vasant Purke clarified that the government will deal severely with any violator of the new code. Earlier, the issue was raised in the legislative council by Sena MLC Deepak Sawant who said that certain CBSE and ICSE schools do not conduct flag-hoisting ceremonies. |
