MCI releases syllabus for Common Medical Entrance Test
New Delhi: The Medical Council of India on Friday released the syllabus for the first-ever common entrance test for undergraduate medical courses.

The syllabus, available on the MCI website, is for the medical entrance examination scheduled for May 13, 2012.

'The final core and other relevant documents are available on the NEET-UG tab on the MCI website,' said an MCI statement.

Common Entrance Test (CET) for the undergraduate medical course will start from 2012, wherein a single entrance examination will be held for admissions to all government and private medical colleges in the country.

So far, students had to appear in several national and state level entrance tests for admissions to various medical colleges.

There are about 300 medical colleges in the country, of which about 180 are privately owned and run.

The non-declaration of the syllabus for the 2012 entrance examination so far had created concern among the students who were not sure of what to expect for the test. IANS
