Shliiong: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) declared the Class 10 & Class 12 (Arts) results on Monday which witnessed girls outshining boys in the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) Arts examination while a reverse trend was seen in the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations.
In HSSLC (Arts), the total pass percentage of female candidates (regular) was 67.72 whereas about 61.51 percent of the male candidates passed the examinations.
In the SSLC examinations, the pass percentage of boys and girls stood at 80.10 and 78.47 percent respectively. The total pass percentage this year was 57.35 percent as compared to the previous year's 42 percent.
Subhajit Bhowmick of Tura Town Higher Secondary School, Tura, secured the top position in the HSSLC (Arts) exam, flaunting a total of 412 marks, while K Eshan Singh of St. Anthony's Higher Secondary School, Shillong, secured first position in the SSLC examination.
Out of 16,661 students, who appeared for the HSSLC examination, 9,267 emerged successful with a total pass percentage of 55.62 percent. While 666 students notched up the first division, the figures for second and third divisions were 3,162 and 5,230 respectively.
In the SSLC examination, 2,662 students secured the first division, 6,865 secured division and 12,298 third division.
