New Delhi: The central cabinet on Thursday gave its approval for introduction of a bill in Parliament amending the Mizoram University Act, 2000 to enable the state governor to function as the chief rector of the institution.

The Mizoram University (Amendment) Bill, 2007 will facilitate association of Mizoram University with the governor of the state in his capacity as the chief rector of the university, said Union Finance Minister P. Chidambram after the cabinet meeting. (IANS)
