Jaipur: A day after the Union Cabinet raised the income criteria for the creamy layer from Rs.2.5 lakhs to Rs.4.5 lakhs per annum; the Government of Rajasthan has also hiked the limit from Rs.2.45 lakhs to Rs.4.5 lakhs per annum for the Other Backward Classes (OBCs).
Addressing the media here, Parliamentary Affairs Minister R.S. Rathore said that the decision was taken in a Cabinet meeting, presided over by state Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje.
The criterion had been raised from Rs.1.5 lakhs to Rs.2.5 lakhs for the economically backward communities, Rathore informed.
The Government had on Friday cleared the raising of income limit for the creamy layer for the OBCs, who would fall outside the purview of reservations, to Rs.4.5 lakhs per annum from the current Rs.2.5 lakhs.
