The chief minister informed the state assembly that the varsity will come up on 85 acres of land at an outlay of Rs.30 crore.

She said Nagapattinam, with a coastline of 188 km, is emerging as the hub of fishery industry, with around 9,000 fishing boats in operation.

Nagapattinam is around 300 km from here.
