New Delhi: A recent survey conducted by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has revealed that female candidates perform better than their male counterparts when it comes to academics and competitive exams.
The study said that even with their limited participation, females perform better because they are more focused against young boys whose reading habits are more diversified in nature.
900 girls and 1200 boys were interviewed by ASSOCHAM's Social Development Foundation in a fortnight in all metros and cities including
Pune,
Ahmedabad, Kochi, Indore, Hyderabad, Bhopal, Ajmer,
Chandigarh, Shimla and Dehradun.
During the survey, it was found that because of higher concentration levels, career-oriented girls, to achieve their ambition of excelling in life, perform better as against ambitious young boys who have the benefit of gender superiority.
The report said, "The concentration level of girls is better than boys. Whatever they read in pursuit of their careers is much more intense and is driven by sincerity to accomplish goals whereas boys can not concentrate on one area for longer periods".
While releasing the report, D.S. Rawat, Secretary General ASSOCHAM said that boys have many options and things on their platter which they chase according to their priorities and preferences.
