DU to offer new courses

New Delhi: Indira Gandhi Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, part of Delhi University has declared its admission schedule for the coming academic year.

This year, the famous institute, known for Physical education offers three courses: Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports, Bachelor of Physical Education and Master of Physical Education. The seats for the admission are divided in as: 70 seats are reserved for B.Sc Program, 50 are kept for B.P.Ed. Program and 25 seats are allocated for M.P.Ed program.

The last date decided for applying into all the above courses are June 9, for B.Sc and for B.P.Ed and M.P.Ed. Program, deadline is June 21.

"The B.Sc course normally starts from Class XII but only the students who have completed their graduation can submit forms for rest of the two courses", said, Principal, D.K. Kansal.

Further, the entrance exam for the B.Sc program is scheduled to take place on June 10 and for M.P.Ed and BP.Ed, the test-date is June 23.

The candidates, applying are required to clear a physical fitness test, playing ability test and interviews to clear the first list of selected candidates that will be displayed in the first week of July, 2008. For more details, candidates can also log on to www.igipess.com.
