Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) will observe its 90th convocation ceremony on Saturday. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh will be visiting the campus during this occasion.

Dr. Singh will reach Varanasi on Friday for a two-day visit. He will be conferred an honorary D Litt degree (Honoris causa) by the University for 'his contributions to the Indian society'.

The University will also confer the honorary D Litt degree to Painter Satish Gujral and Historian Irfan Habib and Panjab Singh.

The varsity will distribute 29 medals, 179 PhDs, 2,023 Post Graduate degrees and 4,252 bachelor degrees to students.
