Bhabha Centre officials to advise Bengal's science panels

Kolkata: The West Bengal government will revamp the existing advisory councils for development of science and technology in the state with the inputs from scholars and professors of institutions like Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics, a minister announced on Tuesday.

"The advisory councils for the development of science and technology do exist in the state but we are planning to revamp those councils it to make it more effective. We will take scholars and professors from Bhabha Atomic Research Center and Saha institute of Nuclear Physics in these councils and seek their advice," Science and Technology Minister Rabiranjan Chattopadhyay said.

Chattopadhyay said that the state government has sought the help of World Bank to make a roadmap for the development of technical education in the state

"We are waiting for the road map of the World Map for the development of technical education in the state. We will appoint professors from IITs to head the advisory committee on technical education," he said at the sidelines of a program of Merchants' Chamber of Commerce (MCC).

"We are planning to bring out good skill hands from exiting technical education centers with good training. We are also planning to make several technical education center in the state," Chattopadhyay added. IANS
