International Management Institute hosts 24th Annual Convocation Mr. K.V. Kamath, MD, CEO, ICICI Bank Ltd. is the Chief Guest New Delhi: The 24th Annual Convocation of International Management Institute, (IMI) was held today at the IMI campus. Shri K.V. Kamath, MD, CEO, ICICI Bank Ltd. was the honorable Chief Guest at the Convocation in which more than 200 bright future leaders of India accepted diplomas from the Chairman, Shri R P Goenka. The first batch of 41 students specializing in Human Resource Management graduated with Ms. Ankita Agarwal securing the gold medal for her academic achievements. The 14th batch of the two year post graduate programme saw Ms. Debarati Basu overwhelm 115 candidates to secure the gold medal. In addition, Mr. Samarth Gupta received the gold medal for the Evening Programme, while Mr. Sudhansu Mohan Jena got it for the One Year Programme.The gold medals were given away by the Chief Guest, Shri K V Kamath, Managing Director and CEO, ICICI Bank Limited in the presence of a wide audience comprising the IMI Board, faculty, parents and well wishers of the Institute. It was also heartening to note the large presence of a number of Alumni as well as former faculty members in the audience. During the academic year just concluded, IMI achieved a number of milestones. Industry placed immense faith in the managers produced by IMI as amply reflected by renowned companies like Ranbaxy, Asian Paints, Citibank, Accenture, Infosys, etc., visiting and making campus offers. The average salary offered to students was Rs.8.75 lacs while maximum salary was Rs.26 lacs. Companies such as Ranbaxy, Asian Paints, Citibank, Accenture Infosys etc continued to reinforce faith in the students of IMI. Also, various surveys ranked IMI among the top 10 B Schools among private institutions. The surveys as in the past also revealed that IMI is among the best in the country in terms of intellectual capital. Delivering his address, Dr. C.S. Venkata Ratnam, Director, International Management Institute, (IMI) elaborated on certain future initiatives for the institute which includes expansion in number of faculty, recognition of IMI as a research centre for Ph.D. guidance by GGSIPU, deepening interaction with the real world by engaging in more research, consulting and further expanding management education. Added Dr. Venkata Ratnam, "Though the long years of research and consultancy, which continues to be our fundamental strength, our effort is to make IMI a stimulator of the corporate world." The Chief Guest, Shri. KV Kamath, MD and CEO, ICIC Bank complimented the Chairman of IMI, Shri R P Goenka on this momentous occasion, stating he must be proud of the institute and its achievements in the past 24 years. Stating further, he added, "There are always going to be challenges facing management education as the road ahead is difficult, but I am confident that IMI has its fundamentals in place to continue to deliver quality to all its stakeholders". Mr. R P Goenka, Chairman IMI Board of Governors, in his address said, "One should keep in mind that in a highly competitive world, though great opportunities exist, they also bring their share of challenges. All these bring a high level of stress but dedicated Managers handle them effortlessly and make a mark in the evolving society. Learning at IMI has always aimed at creating these new age dedicated Managers."
