Friday, September 19, 2008 Pearl School of Business announces admission to Second batch of Doctor of Business Administration Programme for Executives DBA programme commences in January 2009 New Delhi: Pearl School of Business in partnership with Asian Institute of Technology's School of Management has announced admission to second batch of doctoral-level programme in India, Doctor of Business Administration(DBA), for Executives. Application to the programme can be made till 24th November, 2008 and programme commences in January 2009. PSB-AIT DBA is a doctoral-level programme specially and exclusively designed for senior executives. On completion of the programme, successful students would be awarded DBA degree of Asian Institute of Technology. The PSB-AIT DBA offers the art and craft of management research to the professional managers, administrators, owners and entrepreneurs. It aims to enhance their knowledge of advanced management theories and build their research skills to significantly improve their intellectual capabilities, strategic thinking and ability to investigate complex managerial issues for generating innovative ideas, leading to their organizations' superior competencies, performance and corporate leadership. The PSB-AIT DBA is developed and delivered by world-class internationally reputed faculty. The doctoral programme (DBA) aims at building rigorous research skills in experienced managers who have exposure to significant managerial issues. With the research competencies, the participants can turn the experience into useful knowledge of business and management that has direct relevance to business challenges in the emerging economies. The DBA programme has two academic parts. First, it comprises research methodology courses and advance courses in management. Second, each participant, after successfully completing course work, is require to work on an applied research topic to write a dissertation and defend it. The PSB DBA is an international programme of the highest quality, designed in collaboration with AIT School of Management which was ranked third best among the business schools of South-east Asia in 2004 survey by Asia, Inc. In the first batch there are 8 participants from various backgrounds, including COO, Director-Business Development & Consultant, General Manager, E-governance Head from World Bank and entrepreneurs. Three of the participants fly from Mumbai, Banglore and Hyderabad every weekend to attend the DBA classes.
