Vishwanathan, Vice Chancellor elaborated about the availability of more than 60 branches of engineering courses available at Anna University and affiliated colleges. He stressed that "it is not the branch that matters, but the performance and understanding of the subject.  The students should know that all branches of engineering have equal value and he wanted the parents to encourage their wards to perform well"

He further added "that the parents should not be complacent after admitting their children in an engineering college and should monitor the performance closely. Mr. Jayaprakash Gandhi, spoke about the lesser known courses, which have huge employment potential.  He also spoke about choosing a branch as per the choice of the student and parents should only facilitate the selection process.  Students should not be forced by the parents to choose any branch.  He stressed upon the need for preferring core branches and the importance of employability and soft skills development and communication.

Mr. G. D. Sharma lamented about the lack of qualified, employable candidates in all spheres and stressed upon the development of capabilities of the students.
